We called our world Earth. A quaint world, flooded with ocean with land risen above it. We know not why we are here, or our purpose. Yet, it is a quaint, good life. Yet, man may forever end up asking “Why are we here?”
Among Earth, two primary land masses exist. The continent of Navvasia, and the continent of Thralltin. Several other masses of land exist, yet none as large as these two. 80% of the world's surface is water. The Navvasia continent is ruled by the 8 Holy Families,
Bane
Cant
Fonos
Canas
Hyfen
Rite
Lockt
Ranvas.
Early on in life, thousands and thousands of years pre this story, a large war erupted between two main factions. The first was called the Civilised by historians, people who used things such as early economy, government, weapons, and money. The other faction was called the Veius Order, a cult who wielded fell power. This order consisted of a massive religous brotherhood, who believed that people were made to serve the gods, and that was their only purpose. They intended to bring the Civilised under their control and religion, then have the High Priests direct them to be slaves to the gods. The Civilised rejected, and war broke out as the Veius Order assaulted them. The Civilised had higher numbers, but what good were swords against a massive legion of foes who could conjure hurricanes and spray flames of hell from the palm of their hand?
History however, does not have an exactly accurate idea of what happened late in the war. But a modern legend states that which the average peasent accepts and so do the nobles. Only true historians venture further into the truth. According to the legend, as the Veius Order surrounded the Civilised, intent on a final, decisive strike. But as all hope seemed lost, the heavens opened and the gods descended from heaven. In disgust of what their followers had done, they sided with the Civilised, blessing their greatest heroes with 8 divine items.
Rutgoth Bane obtained the Rapier Schwarzen, the Piercing Edge. Nothing could stop the tip of this blade except the defensive energy of Faust.
Kurasu Cant obtained the great blade Zanbatou, the War Lord. As long as the wielder was in combat, his life was eternal. HIs head could be severed and he would still fight. Yet when combat ended, any fatal wounds would take their toll and kill the warrior, thus damning the fighter to eternal combat.
Maguel Fonos obtained the invincible armor Faust, the Great Shield. This armor could temporarily expel its own unique power, rendering it invulnerable to any attack. Even Schwarzen has trouble breaking through.
Gat Canas took the surviving axe Hausten, the Blood Lust. This axe wielded mighty strength and could control thunder. However, it had a mind of its own, and refuses to allow anyone who could potentially threaten it nearby to live. No strong fighter is safe near this axe.
Doma Hyfen took the tome of Volcano, the World Burner. This spell unleashed an immortal flame, which would forever burn and seek to burn more, destroying until nothing was left to destroy. The most dangerous spell of all time.
Lisus Rite took the tome of Savior, the Pure Light. This spell consumed and erased darkness, and could purify and wipe out evil with the power of angels. It was also a curer of disease, but anyone cured by its power would be struck with that disease themselves...
Orick Ranvas took the scythe Irkalla, the Death Edge. This scythe was supposedly wielded by Death, and nothing can survive contact with its steel. Not even the wielder.
And Brite Lockt took the Soul Blade. Little is known of this weapon, other then its great might and its ability to take a shape according to its wielders soul. It vanished soon after the Veius war.
Led by the heroes, the Civilised broke through the surrounding cultists, then counter attacked, slaughtering and butchering nearly all of them. The survivors fled to the coast, and crossed the ocean and ships, as the heroes were hailed and the continent was forever secured as Navvasia.
The head of each family now controls their own territory, and upon Thralltin, there is but one king, with absolute power. However, not long after the Veius war, things stirred… as the sky tore apart with black thunder, and shook with dark energy. Even the Veius order survivors were in awe and fear as a new race descended upon Navvasia and Thralltin.
Demons...foul monsters born of darkness and hate. Or at least, most believe. Demons and Humans have battled for dominion for years, as the Demons are organized into regular clans, which obey the powerful clans, which in turn obey the most powerful and respected demon, the Demon Lord. When the Lord is slain, one other will take his place and his sacred armor.
Not all demons are of fell mind and behavior. However, prejudice between the two races has grown beyond all healing, and 50 years before this story began, the demons of Navvasia waged an all out war against the humans, led by the reigning lord, Kaiokal. To humans, he was a raving madman. To demons, he was a visionary and a hero. They unified under him and charged against the humans.
The war dragged on for years, as the body count rose higher and higher. The lords of Navvasia stayed out of battle, their weapons strangely drained of power. People believed that the apocalypse had come, and that was the reason for the weapons disablement. Hope began to die…and then was rekindled.
From the ashes of the war rose a unknown demon. This demon looked like a human, yet was far stronger and more aware. This demon joined the humans for his own reasons, and fought against Kaiokal. With general and war hero Taisuke Sauzer’s aid, the humans managed to launch a surprise attack against Kaiokal’s demon hive. Taisuke and his army stayed back and drew out the army, while the demon infiltrated the hive.
Inside, he fought his way to the top and confronted Kaiokal. Nobody truly knows what happened, but in the end, a great light burst from the hive, as Kaiokal’s decapitated body was tossed to the cleansing water. The demons were scattered and leaderless, and wiped out by Taisuke Sauzer in the period which historians call the Great Hunt.
The demon vanished without a trace soon after the death of Kaiokal. Very few knew his story, and their tongues are sealed shut from our pokes.
Now, the echoes of the past ringing throughout eternity will take effect...and I feel the greatest story of this world is about to begin...
